Custom and prefabricated spinal orthoses available for fitting
Island Orthotics Inc. offers services for individuals requiring spinal orthoses or back braces. We have in stock a number of lumbo sacral orthoses (LSO) for general low back pain. Our focus in the spinal area is acute care management. We are routinely requested to supply patients with spinal orthoses following surgery or trauma.
The most common device used in this application a Jewett style TLSO or thoracolumbar orthoses, also know as a 3 point extension brace. There may also be a call to supply a more involved immobilization type of device for more complicated fractures. This type of device is general manufactured from custom measurements and or cast model.
